About SunShare

SunShare is the nation's first community solar company. For the first time utility customers can choose between coal and the sun as their electricity source, without needing to be a homeowner or to install a solar rooftop system. At SunShare, our goal is to find new ways to reduce your bills by doing what’s right for the environment. By working together, we can revolutionize the way that people use energy.

Leadership Team

David Amster-Olszewski, President

David founded SunShare in 2011 to provide Colorado Springs with scalable, clean energy solutions.  While working with executive management at SunPower, David recognized that high prices and the inconvenience of solar rooftop systems rendered solar energy inaccessible to many people.  He developed SunShare's community solar garden business model to provide a way for people to 'go solar' without the need for a rooftop system.  As SunShare's chief executive officer, he is responsible for leading the company's growth, building partnerships and overseeing SunShare's overall operations.  David was integral in developing the political framework which legalized Community Solar Garden (CSG) programs in Colorado.  David began his career in the solar industry in 2006 at SunPower, where he gained a comprehensive view of the global solar industry through his work in the United State, Europe and the Middle East.  He launched his first solar project 2007, raising $190,000 to construct a rooftop system at Colorado College, where he received a B.A. in International Political Economy.
