SunShare is the Front Range's first community solar company. For the first time in 87 years, Colorado Springs Utilities customers can choose between coal and the sun as their electricity source. At SunShare, our goal is to find new ways to reduce your bills by doing what’s right for the environment. By working together, we can revolutionize the way that Colorado Springs gets its energy.
David Amster-Olszewski, President
David started SunShare in 2011 to bring the benefits of solar energy to more people. While working in the solar industry, David recognized that high prices and a reluctance to have blue panels on the roof were significant roadblocks to bringing clean power to people's homes. With SunShare's community solar garden business model, David developed a way for people to 'go solar' without blue panels on their roof and for 30% less cost than a rooftop system. David started his career in the solar industry in 2006 at international solar energy company SunPower, where he worked in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, gaining a comprehensive view of the solar industry worldwide. He launched his first solar project in 2007, raising $190,000 in a single week to construct a rooftop system at his alma mater, Colorado College, where he received a B.A. in International Political Economy.
